The Department of Economics was established on 15 June 1971. Mr. S.D.Bhole joined the Department as Lecturer & Head from 15th July 1971 land successfully developed the Department in the initial stage. Later Mr. A.P. Gore was inducted in the Department from 2nd Dec. 1974 to 15th April 1975. Dr. Aher. N.P. is a Reader and Head, Department of Economics. He has done his doctoral degree on topic-Growth and variability in cotton crop economy of Maharashtra. He has attended two refresher courses and various workshops. He has participated various state and national level conferences, seminars and workshops. Dr. S.S.Ambhore working as a Professor and Head in Department of Economics. He has joined in our college in the year 1996. He has done his doctoral degree on topic ‘Growth and Economic Impact of Co-operative Dairy Development in Aurangabad District. There after Dr. P.N. Deshmukh 2010 to June 2018 at present Dr. P.N. Dapke is working as an Assistant Professor in Department of Economics.
The response from the student was good and about 120 to 150 were admitted now the total strength of the student. Two full times Teacher is working in the department. The department deals with the Rural Economics, Indian Economics problem, Industrial Development and Employment, Economics thought and Research Methodology,
- Aims and Objectives
- 1)To change the approach of students about Economics and create interest amog the students in Economics.
- 2)To make the aware to the available resource and infrastructure of the region and their optimum use for economic development and also aware of the economic problems and policies of the government to solve these problem.
- 3)To arrange study tours to various companies, office, markers and other private sectors.
- 4)To arrange various guest lecturers of eminent faculties in concerned fields.
- 5)To introduce various opportunities in all fields.
- 6)To inspire the students regarding present and future challenges.
- 7)To create sense of ethical moral values and social temperament among the students for good citizens.
